The spreading sky, the freedom... Neither of them has changed. Everyone lives, carrying his own worry, desperately holding his broken heart.
But tomorrow's a better day =D

Outdated Post - A Drive To Malacca
    Tuesday, July 06, 2010 @ 11:23 PM

*warning - read at your own risk. I'm not responsible for your hunger or craving for yummy food*

I haven't been able to blog frequently lately. Even though there were a lot of things I would like to share, every time when I get back home, I was too tired to do anything. So having Twitter gives me an advantage to sum up my current situation. And so, this is another outdated post that I should have been posted like, 2 weeks earlier.

My ex-colleague (from PDI) was getting married on end of June. Or rather, he get married few days before that and had a small celebration with us. So, as a nice junior, I attended his wedding kenduri along with Siew Lin and Dominic. Since it was at Tampin, we came out early from PJ that morning after had a very nice fish noodles at Sea Park. Seriously, the handmade noodles there are just so nice! Thinking of it right now makes me want to go there straight away.

I have not been seeing Fendi for 2 years or more! Luckily he still recognize me! And of course, him being an ex-colleague means that I would be seeing other colleagues as well. Chatted with a few of them. I heard the boss is coming too. But I didn't stay that long though. And he certainly didn't come early.

Congratulations Fendi! May you live in blissfulness and happiness forever and always. And I'm glad to hear that you like the gift we gave you and currently using them!

Since we already at Tampin, and it's not that much further from Malacca, so we decided to stay overnight at Malacca. Just assuming this is a weekend trip for us! I have not been to Malacca for 2 years! So it is only right to visit this state again!

Probably because it was weekend, and Singapore was having school holiday then, Malacca was basically flooded by tourists! Most of the hotels were full. We were lucky we managed to get one!

And so... our all-you-can-eat journey started! When you go to Malacca, you certainly can't miss out Jonker Street even if it's a tourist attraction and sometimes the stuff selling there are overprice. But... that's where you get all the nice foodies!!!

We started off with the famous No.88. Seriously, they have the best Baba & Nyonya food. I opted for the famous Baba Laksa. The cafe was so crowded like usual. The interior still remain the same just like what I saw 2 years back. Nothing really changes huh??

Look at how Dom enjoyed his food! Another famous dessert in Malacca is their Cendol. This is also the place that serves good Cendol. The weather was scorching hot so having a Cendol is a must in this kind of situation.

Speaking of the weather... Malacca is all-year-long hot. The last time I came, I went back with serious sun burnt. And so this time I keep reminding myself to bring comfy clothes. Everything went fine until I reached Malacca, only then I realize of everything I had prepare, I totally forgotten to pack along my sunblock!! That's like... the most crucial thing to have by your side when you go Malacca! So here goes my second time visiting Malacca that ended up with another burnt.

I find this tree... entertaining! It leans on one side, just like how Pisa tower is.

And everywhere you go, you certainly can't miss out the sight of tricycle. They are all over decorated with flowers that makes it looks like a wedding tricycle rather than normal tricycle (and comes with all the international top hits).

This time, since it was more of a personal trip, and we came to de-stress instead of doing research, so we had much more time to explore. We managed to have a ride at Menara Taming Sari for a full view of Malacca, and noticed that Eye of Malaysia is very lonely located at somewhere near the sea.

During my last visit I didn't exactly went to all those historical places. So this time I made it a must for me to pay a little visit as I have not been here for so long. And my local history knowledge is getting deteriorate.

Up on the hill is St. Paul. And the other side there is the A Famosa.

Japanese tourists were here too! It was funny seeing them fascinated by almost everything. I guess that would be our reactions as well when we go to Japan!

The best part? We ate a lot! Basically everything that is on the famous must eat list! LOL. Jonker Street is a good place to get food. After a lot of shopping, we had a drink at the historical Geographer Cafe at one of the corner of Jonker Street. It is a good location to observe the busy night market. And in case you don't know, the movie 'Summer Holiday' had their shooting here! The drink above is the beverage I ordered ~ Summer Mou Mou tea!!!

The famous Chicken Rice Balls at Chung Hua Cafe.  I really like the taste of the rice balls. They look yummy even from the picture, right?

Love the satay!!! I think if I were to live in Malacca permanently, I'll gain weight very fast!

Once Abubu told me the best Cendol in Malacca is the one near the port opposite Red House. And so I went. Yeah... they're good. They taste different from the one adding santan. I like both though.

Before we left, we searched all the way for this famous cafe selling popiah. It was the last thing on our to-eat list. And finally we managed to find our way there. Ordered rojak and popiah.

The popiah here is different. More juicy I guess. Can't really describe food with my limited adjective. LOL.

Anyways, I feel really satisfied after having all the food I basically can swallow! And that 2 days I feel like I was having fun again, going travel in another world without having to worry about reality. But time flies and reality hits back really fast when it was time to say goodbye.

Me and Siew Lin took one last photo before leaving Malacca and all those yummy food behind...

P/s: There are more outdated posts coming soon... And I am more likely to upload the rest of the photos in my album... or facebook(which I don't fancy much). Wait till I have time to edit some of them.
